2-Year Old Preschool Class
Each class will participate in art, free play, readng, singing, dancing, technology, math, building, exercise and all out learning through play and formal groups. The students will be assessed at enrollment and will be tracked and their growth will be documented on a 6 week basis. At this age, the children tend to learn so much and this is why we will monitor their learning. If their are any learning difficulties, a specialist will give an overview of what has been observed.
3-Year Old Preschool Class
Three year-olds are such a special group. If your child was with us at two, he or she has a healthy recognition of some sight words. At three, your child will be exposed to phonics as well. Our system of reading blends whole language with phonics. These two methodologies work best together, not in competition. At the age of three, your child is not only familiar with numbers from 1-100, but he is able to recognize some number words, identify groups of items and count them and become familiar with different monetary denominations. While these things are being shared with you, these are only a few learning opportunities that your child will have.
Transitional Kindergarten Class
With your child loving to learn at Shaykobi Kids, each year we expect significant academic and social growth in your child. Your child will grow with a positive self conept and be able to assert themselves in a positve way. Your child will run off to kindergarten a reading whiz. Kindergarteners are allowed to remain at SHaykobi Kids for an enriching Kindergarten year. Routines and procedures are key and have been upon entry into Shaykobi. While we promote some learning through play, we have a strict discipline policy. If a child does not seem to fit into our environment, the parent must pay for two sessions of behavior modification. If that does not fully solve the concern. The parent will be required to pay for one parenting class session. These tools will be implemented to empower you and your child.
